There was a lot of anticipation--and of course many people who doubted it could actually be done.

The aftermath: there was-and continues to be--a tremendous latent interest in space. However, the politicians have consistantly failed to provide anything like the vision and leadership of JFK since then. And that criticism applies to both parties.

But--on 20 July, 1969--none of that mattered. That day is burned in my mind--because of the atmosphere--the attitude --of everyone. Not just in the US--EVERYWHERE. The fighting in Vietnam--and elsewhere--stopped. The crime rate was as cclose to zero as it will ever get this side of heaven.

Magical.. The high-water mark of human achievement--the real thing--really did bring a unity of all humanity--for just that brief moment. But it happened--and if it happened once, it can happen again. :)

Neil Armstrong really is the first man to set foot on the Moon and that so called documentary is fake. I cannot believe how many people are taken in by the unscientific, ignorant, and insulting claims made in the horrible program.

It was like cool. Because like everyone thought they might sink into the dust. And then lunar surface turned out to be like really rocky and the dust was like really thin. Everyone was like "YEA!" None of us could like believe it. It was like awesome and people stopped and watched like wherever they happened to be. Some of them like missed their trains or were like really late for work.
