I'd say I wished all of the guns in the world turned into those Looney Tunes ones where a flag pops out when the trigger is pulled, rather than a bullet.

If only it was as easy as a magical wish. "World peace" is always nice, and since it seems wholly unrealistic anytime soon without the intervention of magical wishes, that will work.

If it was a more down-to-earth sort of wish granted, I'd want my father's mortgage paid off and my niece and nephew to grow up healthy and loved.

Yeah, I'd go for the bullet proof vest. If I'd think that quickly. More likely, I'd revert back to the wish for a kitten, which is what most of my childhood wishes were concerned with.
