It is true that hormonal output diminishes. It is true that men worry about their mortality. In that respect there are some behavioral similarities.
It is not true that their ovaries and uterus shuts down. The gals have diminished hormonal output and adjustment mechanisms take a different turn because it is different equipment.
Women change most physically. Men change most mentally. Both start changes about the same time, just as they both did in puberty, except here the guys tend to start a little early. It is an interesting compensation though, that when women start getting vaginal dryness and brittleness, the guys have long since lost their firmness and size. On the other hand, since she knows she can't get pregnant anymore, she may want it more and since he suspects he can't impregnate anymore, he may be so depressed that he doesn't want to anymore.

Yup, it's a proven fact that men go through what is known as andropause (versus 'menopause' for women), when their hormone levels also shift.
They have less physical symptoms of such than menopause does, and therefore it's less well-known and more easily dismissed, but biologically, it's definitely happening.
Hope that helps.
