depends on who your trying to talk too. Comment on something that is relevant at the time, or if its some dude you like compliment him on some piece of clothing hes wearing. It doesn't have to be anything important, that's why its called small talk.
Try not to start a conversation about the weather.

I read this book called "The Fine Art of Small Talk" you should check it out. I gives all sorts of conversation starters for all kinds of situations. And of course the type of conversation starter depends on the type of person you approach. For instances you can pick an article of clothing a person is wearing and ask them where they got if from. Once they answer, that is fuel for your conversation. You could ask them what they like about that particular store or do they shop there often. Maybe they might like something specific about that brand. Conversations are easy to start and to keep going you just have to listen. Hope that helps. :-)

look at them. What do you see? An automobile, A dog, what
ever you can start a conversation with.
