I mean no offense to ladies. I've met some girls who never smell, but there are some girls out there whom you can smell layers of clothes away. I mean, don't they know??

I suppose the same can be said about some men..but it seems I hear more complaints about women...maybe because we (men) are indeed pigs and talk about these things more freely...

Para: Wow. I never knew that. If it's true, that's great info. Thanks.

Just an FYI here for you...
Smells in the nether regions can be caused by stress, the pill, medications, hormones, ovulation, diet in some cases, diabetes, periods (before and after), UTI's.... a whole array of things. Cleanliness doesnt always have something to do with it. I can also tell you that douching actually makes it smell worse.
And no, sense of smell on oneself is different to what others smell.

I am particular about being clean and wash with water after every trip to the bathroom. But I have recently had a bacterial infection in my female area and have been doing a lot of research on the situation. My infection does not have odor but from what I've read about Bacterial Vaginosis, most women have a strong fishy smell with it. And it got me thinking that maybe there's a lot of women out there with Bacterial Vaginosis and they don't realize it. Because I've used bathrooms after other women in public places and have also noticed that many have an odor that I don't like. So, I guess if you get with a girlfriend that smells bad, you might want to suggest to her that she should go see her OBGYN for a possible yeast infection. I would also recommend to her that she insert some yogurt into her, eat lots of yogurt, or take friendly bacteria pills. Because the OBGYN is going to prescribe antibiotics and those meds will kill all bacteria - not just the bad bacteria that are causing the problem and we need the good ones in our bodies to be healthy. She will need to introduce good bacteria back into her system after the antibiotics or she could get the same imbalance and infection all over again.

Yes, the blood of the period can make the vagina smell bad, but so can having an infection. This needs to be evaluated by a dr to see if an infection is indeed going on.

When I go to the bathroom, I can tell by just sitting on the toilet and breathing through my nose if I need some 'refreshment'. I don't check it on purpose per se, but if I smell something I take care of it.
