I can't even blame this one on my husband. Neither of us even remembered that it will be our 6th year wedding aniversary next tuesday until my mother in law mentioned it earlier this evening. Has this happened to any of you? What would you think if this happened to you?

A lot can happen in 6 years time, and it may say that you're a very busy couple! It doesn't mean that the date or the celebration of this time together means any less, its just that maybe you both have so much else going on. Good thing you both forgot, imagine how you'd feel if he remembered and you didn't? now its time to find a unique way to celebrate that will make it more memorable for next year...

happy anniversary!!!

Wedding anniversaries hold a special meaning in the hearts of those who truly feel like their marriage is fully blessed. If someone forgets an anniversary, they should enforce the law of capital punishment no matter what state they live in. You forget? You don't deserve to live. But that's just me.

I don't think it's saying anything about your marriage, more about how life takes it out of us nowadays. With the ever increasing pace of life, the stresses of surviving financially and just how complicated things can be, it's so hard to remember the basics, isn't it? I believe the problem is as simple as that and unless you have any other concerns for your marriage, then don't let it bother you. Yes of course it has happened to me .... plus other important dates .... once upon a time these things would be sacrosanct but life's pressures simply seem to have eroded that. Don't worry ..... but do get a yearly wallchart!

Reading into things is like sticking your hand in the toilet...you're bound to pull out some'n you don't want. People forget and if you both forgot then it says that you two may be so busy or inlove or so much alike that you have started to truly become one. Try always to be optimistic rather than pessimistic, it's more healthy for both you and your marriage. Happy Anniversary!

Gosh i hope my friend doesn't read this but every year without fail her husband never forgets their wedding anniversary he buys her a rose for every year they are married but i know for a fact he doesn't luv her he told me so many years ago. So maybe forgetting is not the worst thing in the world.

i would think that it says you are pretty relaxed about your marriage, and comfortable with each other, with neither of you needing the reinforcement of celebrating on the exact date of your marriage every year. its a bit like valentines day. Why do we need one day a year to tell each other how much we care, when we can do it every day. oh, and congratulations on your aniversary. :))

We've come very close to forgetting it before. But this time of the year is hard enough as it is with Mother's Day and getting ready for summer, etc. I wouldn't worry about it, people forget things, its human nature.

I got married on Sept 8, 1989 (9-8-89) and I forget it virtually EVERY year until the day it happens.

I would think that you were to bust with life and all it's problem it brings to us. Don't think too much into it. If you both forgot then it's really not a big deal. If he was the only one that forgot, I wouldn't think to much about it. Most men don't remember things like this anyway.
