3x^2 + x - 10 = 0

x = (-b +/-√b^2 - 4ac)/2a

x = (-1 +/- √1 + 120)/6
x = (-1 +/- √121)/6
x = (-1 +/- 11)/6

x = -12/6 = -2
x = 10/6 = 5/3

3x*2 +x - 10 = 0

x = (-b +- √(b² - 4ac))/2a
x = (-1 +- √(1 + 120))/6
x = (-1 +- √(121))/6
x = (-1 +- 11))/6
x = -1/6 +- 11/6
x= -2, x = 5/3

3x^2+x-10=0
x=(-1+/-√(1+120)/6
x=(-1+/-√121)/6
x=(-1-11)/6
x=-2
x=(-1+11)/6
x=10/6=5/3

x=-2, 5/3

you could do this by factoring as well

3x^2+x-10=0
(3x-5)(x+2)=0
3x-5=0
x=5/3
x+2=0
x=-2
