I need to locate a bunch of kazaa .dll files so I can delete them as I have not installed kazaa but it comes up on my scan as a medium threat. I need to find files that start with %program files% and also %profile% please help.

You can do one of two things. 1) open start in your system tray, open run and type in "regedit", open "hkey user", open software and look for "kazaa", and delete the key direct from your registry.

2) You can open start, search for files and type in, "kazaa", or "kazaa.dll", your pc will scan all your files and with hope will find the file. Try first just "kazaa". Also try "dll". Please take great care that you don't delete a dll not related to kazaa.

Good luck,

Sorry, but if you don't know what "%program files%" is an abbreviation for, then you shouldn't be messing around with .dlls or any other system files.

If you never have installed Kazaa, then your scan is probably returning a false-positive. Get a second opinion!

Run both of these on-line scans and see what they find. Both are free and excellent at detecting and removing malware free of charge. There is no need to un-install your current protections before using these.

1. Scan for virus, worms, dialers, etc. and remove (free online scan, no download) with BitDefender's Online Scanner
http://www.bitdefender.com/site/home/

2. Scan for trojans, adware, and spyware and remove (free online scan, no download) with Ewido Online Scanner ( now known as AVG Anti-Spyware). This is NOT the same as AVG Anti-Virus.

These scans will take quite a bit of time. The time is necessary to clean-up an infected computer.

Good luck.
