I know that peas and spinich are good, but I dont always have cooked spinich ready for him everyday. I also don't like peas, unless it's for fixing a swimbladder problem. My goldfish is a messy eater and he always gulps down too much air. This obvious from his sometimes floating poop. Ahaha. It will only get worse if he's chasing around a pea at the surface. :P

Are slices of orange okay? I was thinking about using that. :)

Anyway, suggesstions would be appreciated. :) I bought my little goldy for his beauty, but these trailing poop ropes kind of kill the mood of the tank. Just a little. Ahaha :)

Any greens (romaine lettuce, other leaf lettuces [not iceberg], turnip greens, collard greens, kale, broccoli, squash, green beans, lima beans, cucumber, shredded carrot, melon, oranges). If you don't want to have to cook the small amount he needs, freeze them instead. The cooking/freezing is only to soften the cell walls of the plant so they are easier to get a bite from - your goldie doesn't have hands to hold the food while he tries to bite off pieces and no cutting teeth after all!

You may also be feeding too much at one time if the constipation is frequent. Only give him what he ca eat in 2-3 minutes twice a day. If his normal foods are flakes or pellets, soak them in a separate container with a little tank water before you feed him - this can often help with constipation.

Maybe it's not diet related.

Is the fish under any stress at work? Are you aware of any family problems?

Perhaps he just needs some reassurance (don't we all).

Sorry to break it to ya, the trailing poop ropes are normal. Please only feed it goldfish flake food.
