I hope he isn't dead. He is such a bad-a, and with only 3 bad-a's left on the island (Jin, Sawyer, and Locke), the loss of one will be a catastrophe.
Locke is one of the main characters, and usually when someone passes on the show they have their backstory on the same show. This was not the case last night.
But I wouldn't put it past the writers to pull a stunt like this, and have him really die, or come back in the final season. All I know is that I saw a guy in the chair, when Jacob was crashing things, and when I paused it, it looks like Locke with long hair.

It does seem like getting gutshot is a ticket off the island from other people's experiences. Those people weren'e Locke though. Since he was walking two weeks after his legs are half chopped off, anything could happen. If he had a love interest on the show, I'd say the magic box could bring him back, but I doubt he's what anyone most desires, so it wouldn't work for him.

Definately not.
The island has healing powers so it could easily heal his gunshot wound. Besides, I read spoilers on next weeks episode and he plays a big role in the next episode and the finale.

He's not dead.
We are talking about the SPECIAL guy, the guy who came to the island paralyzed and can now walk!
A gunshot wound is nothing to the island and our special guy.
He's alive, and I cannot wait to see him kick some Ben booty!

He's alive. He is an integral part of the story right now. Can't see him dying this season.

I really hope so...Sorry. He was getting too cocky and annoying for me. I suppose anything can happen though.
