AFL in 1963 not the AFC, did not become the AFC until after the merger with the NFL.
AFL 1963 co-MVPs were Lance Alworth and Clem Daniels

There was no AFC in 1963, but the AFL had two MVP's that year:
• Lance Alworth, WR - San Diego (United Press)
• Clem Daniels, HB - Oakland ("The Sporting News")
