Sure. It was a pet and grieving is just a way of expressing that you cared about him.

Sorry to hear about the loss of your fish.

Yes it's normal. I went through the same thing when I lost my Betta. It's really easy to get attached to the little guys cause they have so much personality. My friends teased me about it for awhile and thought I was weird for it but most people don't understand that you can care for even something as small as a fish. Sorry for your loss. Maybe you can get another one, or get some other kind of fish.

Of course it's normal! When my betta died (Martini), my mom wanted me to flush it down the toilet, but I just couldn't! So I put it in a plastic bag and buried it in the back yard. I had to wait one month (my grieving period) before I went out and bought another one (Tequila). He's definitely a trooper though, I've dropped him in the sink twice, and forgotten to feed him over Spring Break, and he's still alive...and swimming!

Of course its normal. Your betta was something you took care of and loved. Now that's its gone you miss it, just like you would for any other pet.

Its normal to be sad about losing anything that was close to you or that you had in your life. Its especially sad to loose something or someone that you took care of and cared for. I'm very sorry to hear about your beta. I had a hamster die a few months ago, and when I told my friends, they laughed and made fun of it. But its definately not a funny thing, and to you, I offer my empathy.

of course, just because its a fish doesnt mean you dont care about it and wont miss it. I have 2 betta fish, and I talk to them and just sit there and watch them.

Dont feel like your weird about grieving a fish, because your not, it just shows how much you truly care about animals
