I think that 20 years ago, it would have been out of the question, but now days I think that is a perfectly viable question. But considering how strong morals are put into us I think it would be difficult for some people to go through with it if they were strictly hetero. But in contrast, it's a lot easier to get straight sex than it is to get gay sex, at least with women.

No. "Get sex more easily" is a retarded reason to come out. What good is it to come out as gay, if you're heterosexual, for sex you can get plenty, but don't enjoy one bit? That's moronic.
Besides gay men don't have any more sex now than their heterosexual counterparts, that's a myth left over from the 70s. It hasn't been true for probably a decade now.
What this really sounds like is like someone came out to you and you're in denial.
It goes denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance. so keep moving through it, until you get to acceptance.
Don't waste our time with trivial foolishness. If anyone ever chooses to be part of a minority, they're morons, noone would choose the life of an outsider just for sex.

They get sex more easily? Sure, it's just one big club where every gay is waiting to have sex with every other gay in the world.
Attention? Oh sure, if you consider being scorned, mocked, ridiculed, judged, and sometimes beaten or discriminated against getting attention.
I think some people who are bisexual, however, might choose to consider themselves gay, just like some still choose to consider themselves straight, and they come out only to change their minds later in life. But i don't think it's for the self-serving reasons you suggest. Everyone just wants to be loved, accepted, and respected for who they are. Shouldn't be too much to ask.

As far as men, if you are a true heterosexual, I couldn't see them pretending to be gay. No straight man I know jokes about that for simply for attention. And they definitely wouldn't get more sex from women, women are not turned on by a gay man.

it's pretty doubtful.
i think some young people who are still int he process of learning about their sexuality might come out "too soon". for instance, a young woman coming out as lesbian, but realizing later she's more of a bisexual. or the same for a young man.
The other side of this is that young straight people don't have to come out as straight. it's just assumed. wouldn't it be grand if no one had to rigidly define their sexuality at a young age....i digress.
i can say it like this...no matter how many women i could have sex with or how much positive attn i might get for announcing i am straight, i still couldn't imagine myself being romantically involved witha woman. i don't think any straight person could do the reverse and be happy.

Its not really controversal, but i know wut u mean. Though many look down upon ppl for being gay or something, they'll do it anyway, and the reason ppl i've known that have done it have done it for acceptance from a group of ppl. They usually say that they're bi to protect their straightness, and tell everyone that they're bi, and get the instant gratification and acceptance that they're looking for. But when it comes to a situation where they're put on the spot to show their bisexuality, its extremely obvious that they really arent attracted to the same sex. But theres almost no ppl who do this kind of thing, so its not even really relevant....:D

Not even remotely a possibility.
Between the harassment and hatred that gays have to deal with and the fact that "just any sex" simply won't do, I'd say your question wasn't so much controversial as much as not thought about at all.
If so many were truly just "not picky so long as they could have sex" then we wouldn't be dealing with the level of harassment and hatred that we DO deal with regularly.

If you come out as gay when you're really not, the only sex you'll be getting more easily will be the kind you don't want.
I think 99.9% of the people who come out are coming out because yes, they are gay, lesbian, bisexual, straight, whatever, and not for any other reason at all.

If you think "coming out" is such a easy matter, then it would not be so many question ask as "how do I come out?" or "when to come out?"......, althought I have no interest in that kind of question, but I don't know anyone who want to FAKE a come out.
P.S. Why don't you try a FAKE come out and let us know the reaction from your family and friend.

There are some people who choose to do the behavior for whatever reasons but are not actually "gay". They just want to be extra freaky.
