He was a very gifted writer in many different genres. The imagery and emotion he was able to put into his works are, to this day, unequalled in his own brand of intensity. He wrote about horror, mystery, emotion, psyche, and yes, even love.

If you haven't already, it's definitely worth your time to read and study some of his works. Everyone of his works are likely to move you in some way or another. There are still writers today who try to mimic his style and pass it off as their own. Read some of his works and you might notice some similarities in the stories of some of our modern writers . If, as many say, "mimicry is the sincerest form of flattery", then he truly has many admirers...

First detective story. Stories like Sherlock Holmes came out from Poe's discoveries.

Poe's excellent writing skills enabled him to produce vivid imagery and his imagination gave him plenty of good tales and poems to relate to us.
