i have to sing 16-bars of a upbeat song for an auditon for high school musical. What does 16 bars mean? and i can't sing, what is a good easy song to sing at the audition that will make me sound like i can sing?

16 bars means 16 measures. And you should never say you CANT. trust me, I know from experience it wont get you anywhere. A good, easy song to sing would be something like "tomorrow" from Annie or "for good" from wicked. hope this helps

16 bars = 16 measures. A measure is typically 4 beats, but they differ widely. Ask the person who's organizing the auditions for some suggestions of songs.

In lay-man's terms, 16 bars translates to about 1 minute of music. :-) If you don't sing well, try to find something that is simple and doesn't have much range. Usually I suggest the opposite, but you want to show off as much good as possible and if that's not possible then just do what you can. Look at something from Grease ("We Go Together" maybe). Just try to show off your personality! Good luck!

bars means measures. If the song is in 4/4, where there are 4 beats per measure, that would be 72 beats.
the song 'Happy Birthday' has 8 bars
sing it twice?!?
the alphabet song, twinkle twinkle little star??
