hi i have a lot of people on my network and i was wondering if there was any way to control the computers on my network

Well yes there are ways to control the computers on the network. (1)

But if what you are asking really is -- how to keep people off your network? That is a different question with a different answer. (2)

1. use a server with network management software on it. Can be a simple Linux Gateway server with control software all computers route into that machine and you set the bandwidth for each authorized user etc.

2. Setup the proper wireless security on your wireless access point/router. All of these devices have wireless security that allows you to keep unauthorized users out. (WEP, WPA, etc)
Some advanced routers include bandwith management so you can set up and down speeds for each user/IP.

You need to consider running a server to set up domain use of the network. This gives a great deal of control.
