What a great question!! It is so true and after i read this i simulated putting it on and i do keep my mouth open..this is a question i cannot answer but give you kudos on a question that caught my attention..Have a good day!

haha that's an interesting question. I think some women can but to most when putting on mascara opening the mouth is like a reflex. It might be because we are concentrating a little because a lot of people do soemthing weird with their mouth when they concentrate... lol or it could be to make our skin be like flat.. im not sure like when u open ur mouth your face gets a little stretched which could make it easier. haha oh well maybe it's just a girl thing

I didn't even realise that some women put mascara on with their mouth's open. :S Kinda weird...

I think it is because we are busy concentrating on the mascara and we are tilting our head back so our mouth automatically just opens...That's my guess. My mouth does!! And props to people who can without it - you got skill!!

im guessing its cuz when they open there mouths it stretchs the skin under they eyes....think about it...if the skin was all bunched up and u put mascara on thin strecth the skin, there will be spot where the mascara didnt hit..

hold on... You try applying mascara(to your own eyes...) and then see if you can keep your mouth closed. Just as an experiment...

You can put it on with your mouth closed but you just don't pay attention so your mouth opens I guess.

idk y.. but for some reason its hard to breath wen doin that..
i think it is bcuz u have to keep ur nose still so u dont mess up.. or poke urself in the eye.. since u cant move it.. its hard to breathe .. so u have to keep ur mouth open for air..
i kno thats the most rediculous answer ever.. but thats life!
