Sunspots are 7,000 degrees Fahrenheit (coolest part of the sun...that is why they look darker)
Surface is 10,000 degrees Fahrenheit
Interior of the sun is 20,000,000 degrees Fahrenheit

Don't listen to those others fool...lol

The sun's temperature is hotter than the temperature of red dwarfs, red giants, and neutron stars but is cooler than blue stars.

I looked in a thesaurus and did not find a synonym of medium that started with "L."

Hope I was helpful.

The question is much too vague... stars have too many temperatures, core temperature, different layer temperatures, surface temperature, etc. The Sun's "surface temperature", as the temperature of its photosphere is merely approx. 6000 K. However the Sun is far to be one of the "hottest" stars.
