I certainly disapprove of that kind of so called controled drinking....

I have 2 sons aged 15 & 10 I have allowed them wine with xmas dinner,I also have aloud my eldest to have a half pint of cider under my supervision whilst on holiday,I am proud to say that Im fortunate enough to have level headed children which I feel is due to how I have raised them,I have said if they want to try alcohol not to do it behind my back in a park with their friends, but to tell me and I will allow them 2 bottles of beer in my company if i feel they are old enough to be thinking about trying alcohol,my eldest has yet to ask and has never came in drunk or had a drink without my knowledge of it.. I approve of this type of consentual underage drinking others may not agree but I would rather I was the one they came to.......

i have recently completed the national certificate for personal licence holders [NCPLH] and the law states that children can legally drink alcohol from the age of 5yrs at home and 16 and17 yrs can order beer wine cider or perry to be drunk with a meal in an are spcificaly used as a resteraunt area
i think its ok at home for under 18s to drink but pubs can be dangerous i run a pub and have adopted an over 21s policy that is rigorously checked we have much less problems now as most 21s behave and respect our older clientel

I do not approve on pub crawls but my mum has always let me and my brother have a small drink with her on special occasions and i guess we have grown up to respect alcohol rather than abuse it.
Now im 20 and my brother is 21 we rearly toutch the stuff.

I guess that its not drinking alcohol thats the problem its when People dont respect it then it becomes a problem.

Totally disapprove of that big time, I don't mind seeing kids have the odd drop and I mean the odd drop of alcohol at Christmas or very special occasions but on a weekly basis no way.

I think it all depends on the situation. If the parents are being sensible and teaching them to consume alchohol responsibly then sure. If their going out to show their kids how to get wasted and make a fool out of yourself then I definitely disapprove.

that is totally unacceptable and i disagree, but if you were giving a child a glass of wine or a can of beer at a family barbecue or a meal at home then its OK, because you are teaching them to respect it.

a child who has been brought up with the odd drink will have no desire to go binge drinking, to them alcohol is no big deal, but to do what you have mentioned is just asking for trouble and those type of parents don't deserve to have children.

Under age drinking is illegal either at home or in public and anyone that supplies or aid access to drinks for a minor is also guilty of an offence.

i'm not against minors drinking alcohol but its just wrong for a parent to let their kids drink and especially in public.. these parents need serious help and i guess they didn't know but its against the law for a minor to have any kind of alcohol. unless the kid is gonna grow up to be an alcoholic and think that its okay to have his kids drink in the future befor the age of 21.

Depends on how under-age they are!!
I would probably take my kids out for drinks when they are about 16 coz they'll do it anyway-i know i did!!
I'm gonna go for approve but I wouldn't encourage binge drinking neccessarily-in moderation!
I think sometimes if u cant have something it makes u want it more!!
