When people say we have a love hate relationship do they mean:
a) lets say he loves her and she hates him OR
b) they really annoy each other and feel like they hate each other sometimes but part of them really loves the other at the same time????

its like...they love each other..n hate each other...hav good times together and bad times..
e.g. they love each ther passionately...and when they fight..they hate each other passionately...n going in circles!!!

It's an expression. That at any given moment you love them, but the next could be quarelling like cats and dogs. To say you have a love hate relationship means that your feelings change for them. You may always love them deep down, but sometimes hate them for what they are

a) It means that when you are with the person, you can't stop thinking of all the things that annoy/depress/hurt/anger you about them, you can't stop thinking how this will never work and want to get away, recount all the things they've done to hurt you, degrade you, insult each other, fight, want to change them, criticise, accuse, feel jealous and insecure...
b)When you're not with that person, you crave them with every fibre of your being, you miss them and play down all the bad stuff and imagine that if you love hard enough, strong enough you'll be able to bridge that gap, send loving sms's, gloss over significant differences,you justify and excuse their actions, feel jealous and insecure, can't wait to see them and when you do....

I've always defined a love/hate relationship as two people who love to hate each other. That's their only bond - they hate each other. That's also part of what keeps what relationship they have going. They enjoy hating each other.

its typically B..... u know that feelin u get sometimes wen u love some one so much that they bring out the strongest emotions whether that be love, happiness, anger, hate.... ur real emotions burn thru because of the love that u 2 feel between u.
i reckon if u were t ask my fella tho he would tell u A... he hates to admit he likes me at all yet alone that he loves me! but he does!!

you hate everything about them, all those irritating things they do, you fight constantly, but when it comes down to it you can't end the relationship, that's when you know you can't let go, being without them would hurt more, you realise you love them.
and it is true that some relationships survive on that basis.
