I watched all of his shows, and they seem to pretty much tame and speak to the average working man? I have heard people spout off about all the lies he tells, but they never mention specifics. Where are all of the obvious lies that he spews? I haven't found any. If you ACTUALLY watch and listen to the videos, they're pretty entertaining. He does make some speculations, but he says so.

I have heard people say he is a hypocrite and has held shares in GM. Funny how those critics fail to mention that THEY are making speculations.

Because he is a liar and hypocrite.

After Farenheit 9-11, he was sued by several of the military personnel in the film, because he lied to them about how they would be portrayed in the film. Farenheit 9/11 was also financed in part by the Bin-Laden family.

He owns stock in Halliburton, but he was he first to criticize VP Cheney for owning stock in the same company.

He does documentaries on the poor and homeless and talks about the lack of government programs for them, but he lives in a million dollar condo in New York. None of the money from that documentary went to fund any homeless programs, even though he claimed that he was donating a certain percentage to the homeless.

One of the first things a good liar learns is how to make his B.S. sound honest and believable.
Most politicians have this down to a science. Michael Moore being sort of a political commentator knows this very well, so he takes 15% truth , mix with generous portion of exageration and hyperbole add a generous portion of outright lies, and bingo 9/11 is born. Those socialist idiots in Europe even gave him an award.

Michael Moore's videos have had the blatant agenda of bringing down the Bush administration. By the mere speculation, and by presenting that which he purports to be evidence, he snares those who watch his stuff and are entertained by. These same people normally don't bother to check into whether what his "speculation" is correct or not.

A lot of his 'lies' are the poetic license he took in making his movie. He was trying to prove a point, and used tricks of cinema to do this. A lot of the issues were juxtaposing images together to make one evil deed look just like another common practice, the way some expert testimony was edited for film (he'd get the soundbite but the guy was giving a different message), and the way he'd play up something that is unrelated to the issue at hand.

One example is how he went on and on about Bush getting Bin Laden's family safely out America, to imply that he and his family and finances are in bed with them. It's common practice to kick the diplomats out when you are about to declare war (even granted that it's an unusual war and they weren't exactly diplomats). Wouldn't it have been lower (almost terrorist) to hold Bin Laden's family hostage for something they had nothing to do with?

Moore will make you think, but check your sources. I read one of his books, and many of his points were interesting, well thought out, cogent and relevant. Others were a total reach based on sketchy information and others were simply appeals to emotion. He wrote for the general public, but you have to read/watch his stuff with a scholarly fine toothed comb--doubting everything, checking references, checking for bad logical conclusions and listening to exactly what was said (he won't outright lie--but he'll intentionally mislead). You can't expect everyone to think that much--and he was kinda hoping people wouldn't think--that they'd just watch and believe it all.

All that said, I still think he is worth checking out--just make sure your thinking cap is on.

If someone was making up lies about you and what you believe, wouldn't you be upset?

Everything Moore says is a lie, but he calls it a "documentary" to make it seem credible. It's indented as propaganda to spread lies about people he disagrees with politically.

They hate him because he's bringing out the truth

Did you ever see Bowling for Columbine? He tries to talk to the NRA leader and he walks away. The guy didn't like being told that he was an asshole

Because we are currently under a Republican president, anything wrong with our society at this moment can be blamed on the republicans. Michael Moore is a journalist with a mission, of course he is biased, and everything he is or has discovered is being blamed on our republican government, that is why they don't like him and try to bash him.

Regarding the website another posted, michaelmoorelies.com (or something like that). I looked at it, it was some random guy's blog bashing Moore. That is far from a creditable source. The blog is nothing but low-blow commentary. It isn't worth looking at.

He is a rich New York socialite who came from a priveledged background. How much does he really have in common with the "working" man. He uses what should be objective filmaking for fabricated editorials espousing his beliefs. He creates stories where there are none. He is so blinded by his liberal politics that he has lost touch with reality. What else do you need?

MM is full of partisanship and hatred. Fortunately most Republicans are smart because they can see through his connect the dots that lack factual support when measured in the real world rather than in his contrived presentations.

You should see "Manufacturing Dissent". It's a doc by 2 people who used to work with Moore. In it they show what a hypocrite he is and how big of a bulls****er he really is.
