At my school, all the girls wear Hollister or Abercrombie. I like those stores, but i dont like looking like a clone of everyone.
I want to start wearing clothes that are different (not weird) like blazers and sun dresses. The problem is, i have very low confidence and self esteem, i am extremely shy in school, and i'm afraid that people will laugh at me and stuff like that... how do i change that??
p.s. im not a nerd or anything & i'm ok with my body so thats not the problem...
:(

Oh my gosh! I could have said thosee exact words, I feel the same way!

Just don't worry about what other people think. The people that only wear Hollister and all those expensive brands are the ones that have low self esteem because they are afraid to have their own style, so they just dress like everyone else. Wear whatever clothes you like, and who cares about the other people. There are 7 billion people in the world, and it would be pretty lame if you let a couple of them stop you from what you want to do!!!!

Good luck!

I have two suggestions.

The first:

Wear an Abercrombie tshirt with a blazer over it. Start off simple, nothing too different until you get comfertable in it and others are used to you wearing different stuff.

The second:

Don't listen to what others have to say. Don't doubt yourself. Just go for it. If you want to wear a purple and yellow sundress then just DO IT. People will either make fun of you and if they do then they are shallow and obviously not okay with themselves if they have to get their kicks by making fun of someone else. OR you will set a trend. People will be asking you were did you get that and stuff.

Be yourself cuz thats the only person anyone really knows how to be!

just be different. dress however you want to. I was kind of the same way in school. It is perfectly OK to put your own spin of style on what you wear. Be unique and be yourself. It is who you do best. And if you are happy with what you are wearing, it can be a great confidence booster and may help with the shy thing. It totally did for me. I am now in my 30s and not the slightest bit shy.

who cares? Just wear what's comfortable and if people laugh, just laugh back. Start small, wear a different shirt one day, then see what happens. Then, wear a different outfit (shoes and all). People should be able to wear what's comfortable, that is the best style.

well i think you should wear blazers and sun dresses and whatever else you want to!! and if anyone should be laughed at, it should be them 'cause their the ones who dress alike.

well i used to be like that too but i realized that i don't care what others say if i want to wear something i will wear it..... i like to be in style and stuff like that but i want to start my own styles too... so i just try and make things work and not care about what others say...

i agree.
wear what you want to wear.
and be proud of your OWN, UNIQUE, style.
more people will admire you for that... having your own personality and not wanting to follow everyone else.
and if they do laugh at you...just remind yourself they're the ones that all look cookie cutter.
