I bought a 2004 Base PT Cruiser a couple of months ago and I have mixed feelings about it. It is cute, and roomy inside. The fact that the back seats fold down flat, and are removable has been very helpful for me because I haul a lot of supplies in it. However, it has already had a major problem that cost me $600 to fix. The ignition coil was bad and it had to be replaced and my fuses and all wires replaced because they were covered in carbon. Also when I recieved the car there was no oil in it--of course this could have been due to bad maitenance practice by the previous owner, but with the other problems I have experienced, it is hard to say. I also have a leak in the radiator overflow, and the hubs and wheel bearings are bad and need to be replaced. I have searched on the internet and found that the problem with the wheel bearings is very common for PT Cruisers.....http://www.topix.net/forum/autos/chrysler-pt-cruiser/TIL09OD8D72ERULQA

I did get it for cheap...and for the price it is is nicer than a lot of the other used cars available in that price range, but I wouldn't do it again with the knowledge I have now. I may just have a lemon, but I have a feeling it some of the issues are just plain design problems.

See the undertaking with the PT Cruiser is that it is in basic terms about an previous vehicle. and yet no longer something like an previous vehicle. The Ford Tbird a minimum of extremely sounds like there previous vehicle. i'm an previous vehicle fanatic and that i went by way of a no longer ordinary time proscribing it to in elementary terms one. My uncle needed me to apply his 39 Mercury, or fifty 5 Chevy, my dad needed me to apply his seventy one Ford. I even have some friends that in basic terms approximately have Jay Leno's sequence--over 25 previous vehicles, maximum offered at Hershey. in case you're into an previous vehicle, you would be wanting an previous vehicle. in case you're no longer into an previous vehicle, a PT Cruiser is in basic terms too very similar to one for you. i wanted a convertible too for ease of photographs. I had 2--a fifty six Buick specific and a fifty 8 Cadillac. the two have been a alluring coral which became into extremely close to to my wedding ceremony hues. i did no longer ought to be troubled approximately "adorning" b/c not one of the groomsmen could have dared touch that advantageous of a vehicle. the undertaking with a PT is its in elementary terms a classic vehicle--no longer a Rolls or a limo or consistent with hazard a cadillac, it is in elementary terms a chrysler-- and that i could think of that chauffeur could spend the full night attempting to run human beings off of his vehicle.

I'm very impressed with them. Usually vehicles with funky-weird styling don't sell well, but the PT Cruiser is one of Chrysler's top selling cars. They are considered to be the most reliable wagon, they come in the hottest colors, they come in CONVERTIBLE! AND are one of Consumer Reports Best Buys!!! For 7 years in a row!!

I own one. It was bought new and now has 90,000 trouble free miles. Plenty of power and highway mileage about 30mpg.
Very roomy and versatile. You can opt for a turbo version for more power.
Its a 2002 touring edition with a automatic transmission.

Reliable, interesting styling, lots of cargo room.
Also, underpowered and only modest gas mileage.
Not bad. Not great, but not bad.

I have one good thing to say ,versitle interior.
But they are 'Gay' under powered and undependable.
I think one could find a versitile interior in a better vehicle.

I don't like how they look. They're sort of hearse-like, but not enough like a hearse to be awesome.
