I've heard "breaking the 4th wall" and "laying pipe" which is a term for exposition. Exposition, or laying pipe, is the term for the...things they mumble at the audience so that we know what he is thinking much better than what the bad guy is thinking.

That is an "aside", as opposed to "internal voice-over monologue"
