Some people object to them due to their religious beliefs, that one's body is G-d's temple and should not be tamered with. The Catholic Church condemns abortions and refuses to even consider them, supporting this point of view termed the "right to life" side. Other people believe that it is the mother's choice. She and only she may decide whether to abort the birth or not. They are the "right to choose" side. A third side falls in the gray area between the previous two positions.
Supporters of this region agree that at times, it is necessary to abort the birth, namely instances ivolving rape or ones in which the mother's health is at risk. However, they also believe that it is ultimately the mother's choice and hers alone.
From a Constitutional point of view, no person may be deprived of "life, liberty, or property without due process of law" as per the Fourteenth Amendment.
If abortion was totally illegal, what would you say to the victims of rape? Would you want a child born into a single-parent family that couldn't possibly take care of it? We have a population explosion as it is, and prohibiting abortion would stoke the flames of that explosion.
Not all women think abortion is cool for themselves, but all women have the right to make this choice.

A woman should have complete control over her fertility and pregnancy.
This entails the guarantee of reproductive rights, which includes access to sexual education; access to safe and legal abortion, contraception, and fertility treatments; and legal protection from forced abortion.
Having a child is a personal choice about YOUR own body and personal health, and that both parents' and children's lives are often better when the government allows abortions to women, thus preventing women from going to desperate lengths to achieve illegal abortions.
At the core of reproductive rights is the principle that a woman has the right to decide whether and when to have a child. When faced with an unwanted pregnancy, only she can decide whether she will carry the pregnancy to term.
Governments are bound to respect this basic human right by ensuring that women have access to the full range of quality reproductive health services, including abortion.
Not only should governments remove legal barriers to abortion services, they should ensure that safe and high-quality abortion services are accessible to all women.

by the time you know you are pregnant the brain , heart, and other parts have started to form, you're definitely destroying a human life form.
To say it is only part of the mother until it is able to support itself without her assistance, is to question whether any person who needs a machine to breathe, eat, maintain heart rhythm, or any other body function, which includes many who are disabled, are actually people of value.
Most abortions are for convenience reasons, not to save the life of the mother, or due to rape or incest.
Being able to abort a child may make a person more likely to not think before becoming intimate, possibly enter into an affair, or illicit relationship because you know you can dispose of the evidence.(don't know if that's true)
Abortions are often done under pressure, or because someone is paniced, and women often face depression afterward .
People who want to adopt a young child often have to go to other countries, abortions are one reason adoptable infants are rare.

well, i'm not anti abortion, i'm not pro either, i'm pro choice. its not the people who protest that carry the child and know if the person is ready or not. they should of used protection i know is the response, but as humans go, so do mistakes, if its not a safe environment to bring a child into, thats ruining 2 lives cause some people who won't be there to raise the child don't like abortions.

The only time abortion is "wrong" is if you believe you are commiting murder. There are many arguments about the start of life. That's where you need to research.

The bible says in Jeremiah 1: 5
"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,
before you were born I set you apart;
I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.
God has a particular purpose for every individual!

It may be wrong or not, depends on why a woman/girl want the abortion. If she was raped and got the baby, then I would say it is right. But if this is about not using birth control and got pregnant, then I would say it is very wrong.

Besides all the moral issues that you are going to get answers about, having an abortion can mess up a womans body and make it so she will never be able to have another child. That doesnt always happen, but it DOES happen. Oh, and also, depression and guilt are HUGE side effects that MANY women face after having one.
