Pandas are endangered because Chineese humans are exploiting the Panda's habitat for natural resources. The humans are doing this because another group of humans have enabled the Chineese humans to "westernize" their economony. Western living is extremely hard on the natural environment. Ordinarily the solution would be to simply stop enabling the Chineese humans to westernize by not buying anything made in China. Fortunately for the humans and the Pandas this is not necessary. Because western capitalism is based on the idea of the value of things, Pandas are seen as very valuable animals and the Chineese humans have successfully begun to actually "ranch" Pandas to sell to zoos. The only unfortunate aspect of this is that the Panda's life in the wild is over and this species is now wholly dependent on humans for its survival. Panda "parks" would be economically impractical because unlike deer, Pandas are solitary animals and sleep most of the time in dense cover. Tourists in a well stocked Panda "park" would probably never see a single animal. Besides all this, Pandas need hudge territories because they wander quite a lot.
Therefore, to answer your question - if you want to help this species survive, go th the zoo. If the zoo does not have Pandas, go the zoo often enough to increase the zoo's revenue enough so that it has enough money to purchace a Panda. Pandas have a number of minimum requirements in captivity and if you sence the Panda might be living in sub-standard conditions, protest. This animal so popular that ordinary citizens could probably force the zoo to either improve the Panda's habitat or see it gets a better home in another zoo.

You can donate money to the Giant Panda Conservation Fund.
You can write letters to your congressperson expressing your desire to see more funds directed to zoological research, especially the cooperation between China and the United States which is the main way the US is working on panda conservation.
And if you're really dedicated, you should study biology and zoology and perhaps someday make a career of wildlife conservation. There are thousands of amazing species that are in grave peril, the panda is the tip of the iceberg.

This is honestly a good question. The reason it should be discussed is that they seem predisposed to be rubbish at surviving as a species, and suck up millions of pounds' worth of conservation funding with relatively little to show for it. The answer to your question is that they're what's termed a 'flagship' or 'charismatic megafauna' species for conservation (like the Tiger and Polar Bear). They attract public attention to wider conservation causes, and conservation work on them benefits hundreds of other species in their ecosystem.
