Ever wake up sore, not remembering anything from the night (or day) before? But yeah, we need more details.

The dates that they give you are more like estimations. They may say you are 4 weeks pregnant and you're thinking, but wait, I only had sex two weeks ago. Pregnancy is counted from the first day of your last period. Also, the dates they give are based off of a standard 28 day cycle with woman ovulating on day 14. That isn't the case with everyone. Another thing to note is that sperm can live inside of you for a few days. Bottom line, don't freak out if your dates don't match up with the dates they tell you. Best of luck.

I agree with the first answer. Contrary to the popular belief oft-quoted here, not all women ovulate on day 14 of their cycle. MANY ovulate at other times, some twice in a month. My son was conceived over a week 'early', but I was on birth control pills - if you're coming off of bc, your cycles may be super-wonky, leading to conception at unexpected times.
Congrats!
Oh - and if by 'dates don't add up' you mean the doctor is counting you as 5 weeks pregnant when you know you a) ovulated and b) had sex just three weeks ago, that's because docs always go by the first day of your last period. Confusing, but it's how they do it.

Everyone is right about the estimated ovulation time! It can vary...However, your MOST FERTILE time is when you are ovulating...this does not mean that you cannot get pregnant any other time you have sex. If you have unprotected sex...no matter what time of the month it is...you CAN get pregnant. It seems like people think you can ONLY get pregnant when you are ovulating...9-14 days after the start of their menstrual cycle...and this just isn't the case!

Yeah, I had it happen to me three times. The first time I couldn't figure out how I was pregnant. We only did it once. The second time I was forced to do it before I could use my protection. So by the third time I figured out how this was happening. Those darn sneaky men anyway.lol

i think that's the least of your worries right now.
the doctor can tell you how many weeks along once you get your first ultrasound. when i got pregnant, i honestly had no idea what date it could have been. the dr told me what date the baby was most likely conceived.
congrats and good luck

If by dates you are assuming you are ovulating on day 14 of your cycle then forget it. When you ovulate in your cycle is really variable depending on stress and other factors. It is relatively easy to work this out if you look at www.tcoyf.com. They explain everything really well.
