I need to select an industry that is affected by the economy, such as the airlines, automotive, home building, or technological industry. I am only asking for suggestions for an industry that will have the widest search possibilities, to make for smoother research. Thank you

Automotive and what it's doing to Michigan. Barack Obama gave a speech in Detroit the other day, pointing out how the auto industry repeatedly lobbied against fuel economy standards, and because they never focused on making more fuel efficient cars, they dug their own grave.

The auto industry is collapsing, and it's taking Michigan with it. Schools are closing all across the state because no one will vote to pass a bond or tax increase if they have just or are about to lose their job. The governer is trying to pass some sort of tax initiative to start combating the situation, but is being met with fierce resistance by the Republican section of the state because she wants to tax businesses.

The effect is immense. No one knows what is going to happen here, and there are articles in the paper every day about business that aren't even tied to the automotive industry moving out of Michigan to avoid the catastrophic plunge.

What about industries that specialize in the production of recreational vehicles such as motorboat and motorcycles. This industry is seriously affected by the economy. You could visit websites or even call industries like Mercury Marine (Murcruiser) or Harley Davidson for example.

Oil companies and gas companies. There is a lot on them and then you can even relate automotive to that as well.
