Historically, this used to happen frequently. As far back as before America became the USA. Cousins married cousins. Unfortunately, I have a family tree book that revealed that one group in my family tree married double cousins. I am horrified. I also noticed that several had stillborn births. We have learned so much more now about marrying inside the family. It definitely contributes to mental retardation and birth defects. You may be safer with a third cousin or fourth cousin. I would not want to marry a cousin because of the chance of birth defects.

personally,i see nothing wrong with it,in the bible incest seemed normal although any closer relative than that i wouldnt condone actually a first cousin is to close since they are blood relatives

Depends on whether they plan to have children. If they do, it depends on whether the recessive genes they carry are really bad or not.
