The greatest Republican president is by far Abe Lincoln. The greatest Democratic President is Frankin D. Roosevelt.

I would definatley pick Ronal Reagan as the best republican president as well. As for democrat, hmmmmm.......dont really like any of them. BUT if i had to pick.........probably harry truman as well, he had the go-nads to drop our A-bombs and end the war. FDR might be a great, only because he listened to John Maynard Keynes and worked our economy out of the great depression, but he also had a bunch of commies working in the government......so yeah, harry truman

I would say the obvious Kennedy as democratic and and less obvious Ford as republican.Everyone knows that Kennedy was good during his short duration in office but why Ford?
Because although he did not do any great goods he also did not do anything significantly bad and at that time would be just what the country needed , a break from cutthroat politics.FDR is also a great choice.As with Reagan.

For all his faults FDR accomplished two major things.

1. Recovery from the Great Depression.
2. Victory in World War II

These two tasks have defined the US for the last 60 years.

Abraham Lincoln...are you kidding me? Do you know anything about Lincoln? Pick up a book or two about Lincoln's presidency and his management of the civil war. He was the greatest Commander in Chief in history

FDR- able to start the preparation for WW2 against republican objections by bending some rules
