Yes. I needed a fresh start. Moved to Chicago from Cleveland, spent 3 years there. Met some of the best friends ive ever known, got my life in order, worked up to a great position in my company. That was when i was 24. Now i just turned 27, just moved to Columbus from Chicago, and got hired as the Director of IT for a major hospital system. Sometimes starting fresh makes you see and appreciate the small things in life that you have, rather than what you dont have.

Yes I wanted to. However I didn't want to go where I knew NO ONE else. I wanted to move to S.C. where a very good friend of mine lives. In the past (years ago) when she was having difficulties, I had her move in with me. When she got everything together we decided to become official roommates. She had gotten a job and was paying half of expenses. It worked out well and we were very close friends. She eventually moved to S.C. Well, when I really wanted to move and start over I asked her and she said NO. I am very hurt by this and still don't understand it.

Sorry I am so hurt by this I had to tell someone else (someone who doesn't know me). Thank you for the chance to whine for a while.

Yes, actually. My teenage years aren't something I wanna look back on, and the town I'm in, people I see, things available to do...all remind me of those years. Plus I feel like I'm stuck in a hole. There's alot of things I want to change about myself, but it's hard to change anything when the rest of my life is forced to stay the same.

So, I'm moving to California. I live in New York, atm. All the way across the country. New scenery, new people, new start. Sometimes a clean slate is just what the doctor ordered.

I have done this twice. After living in OH all my life, I moved to LA, CA. I didn't know anyone there, but I felt it was something I had to do. Like you'll never know how something will turn out unless you try it. Well, LA didn't work out for me. I didn't like it, I didn't like my job, it was too big, too busy, too expensive, yada yada...
So I moved from LA to St. Louis. BEST decision I ever made. Once again, I didn't know anyone there, but this time I made friends instantly, living in the trendiest neighborhood was affordable, I could get anywhere I wanted to go in 15 minutes, there are lots of things to do... I still live here.
So go. If you feel like you're stuck wherever you are, try moving away & see if it works for you like it did for me.

Very much so! I live in California so every once in a while I get really PO'd at my state and want to leave. Not sure I'll have the guts though considering I'm born and raised here.

Yeah... TONS of times! However in highschool everyone goes through this feeling... and all thru life... but if you move and just "Start over" your relly just running away from your problems and not taking care of them... just stick it out! Remember that there even tho there are TONS of thorns on a rose bush, there are still amazing flowers too!!

Of course. Everyone feels that way from time to time. Especially when you are upset and it feels like no one cares about you or what you do. You just want to get away and try to forget about everyone and everything that's annoying you and start fresh.

Sure I'd love to pack up and leave without telling anyone and start a new life fresh somewhere...only thing is I could never hurt my family like that...
