What does it mean when a Christian relative tells me that my telepathy is the holy spirit?

Was my telepathy a phenomena or controlled accident, or was it created by a chip in my head that was switched on?

WHAT is it? And why?

I think the Christian perspective would be that we as humans don't have the ablitity to read people's minds. There are spiritual forces out there though that can enable us to have understanding beyond ourselves. In the spirtitual realm there are two sources: either good (as in God and the Holy Spirit) or evil (as in Satan/demons/evil spirits), so assuming your "telepathy" came from the good side, the Holy Spirit allowed you to have knowledge beyond yourself.

P.S. This is why Christians don't go to psychics, palm readers or fortune tellers, because if you're not getting your info from God, then there's only one other option!

Well, I can honestly tell you that I have never heard anyone say that telepathy is the Holy Spirit. That makes no sense. Someone is pulling your leg. And, yeah, I'm a Christian, so I'm not making fun of Christians.

I have not heard it phrased that way, but I know a couple of christian friends that think that the holy spirit guides you through important forks in the road (even if they seem irrelevant to you) by sending you 'visions' of how you should act in an upcoming event.

I think they are nuts....

you sound sarcastic about the chip in your head, but for the benefit of the doubt, i'll take it that you're serious.

i've heard that sometimes the Holy Spirit talks to you about someone's condition, that you might prophesise to that person, and offer words of encouragement and directions to that person. sometimes you really dont know wat is happening in that person's life, yet when you pray you just feel you have to tell him to do this or that specifically, that could be the Lord working through you.

Making psychic ability the Holy Spirit is their way of acknowledging the ability and credit God not your God given talent.
