Hello all, my partner and I plan to try to concieve again after my period as I had a miscarriage 6 weeks ago. we have only been using the withdrawal method this month to give my body a chance to heal before trying again. My bbt has been the same as usual this month since my m/c except for an extra long pre-ovulatory phase. My temperature has been elevated now for 12 days and I kept wondering when it was going to start to drop which it usually does before I get a period. Then today I started having mild cramps and then had blood when I went to the loo. I assume this is my period, though the second time I checked there was brown blood not red, (which I don't usually get til the end of a period). There hasn't been alot of blood. I am mainly just confused about why my temperature didnt start to fall the few days before my period came as it usually does. Anyone know whats going on?

withdrawl is not effective bc, you may be pregnant again. Its not recomended to get pg so soon after a loss, but most times it will go well. Good luck!

A longer luteal phase than normal generally means you were pregnant or your body thought you were. Chemical pregnancy, miscarriage, or you're still pregnant. But no your temp doesn't have to drop, for some women it doesn't until day 2 or 3 of the cycle. It usually does anyway, the reduction in progestrone often causes both the bleeding and the temp drop at the same time.

Wait another day or two to see if your temp drops, if it stays high for a few days longer than your normal lutal phase then take a pregnancy test, if it does drop in the next few days then it is your period.
