No, trade has increased between the countries using the Euro. It is easier to compare prices and it helps increase competition.

Also national pride is set aside to give a symbol of unity without encroaching on ones cultural identity since coins still bear the national symbols of the Euro members states.

Stability has also been given to the area. Instead of widely fluctuating currencies and economies, steady growth can be maintained.

It also makes travelling immensely easier. I'm from Ireland and when planning holidays I consiously avoid non-euro countries just so not only is there no hassle and rip-off from exchange rates, but i know exactly what I am paying.

Yes, there are way to many price fluctuations between each country.
