Mmmmm, if it was people would be so much less disagreeable, don't you think?

I was rather amused by the 'Smoking Man's version of that from the X-Files:

"Life is like a box of chocolates:

"A cheap, thoughtless, perfunctory gift that nobody ever asks for. Unreturnable -- because all you get back is another box of chocolates. You're stuck with this undefinable whipped-mint crap that you mindlessly wolf down when there's nothing else left to eat.

"Sure, once in a while, there's a peanut butter cup. An English toffee. But they're gone too fast, the taste is fleeting.

"So you end up with nothing but broken bits, filled with hardened jelly and teeth-shattering nuts. If you're desperate enough to eat those, all you've got left... is an empty box... filled with useless, brown paper wrappers."

I think that movie ought to be banned! It boggles my mind how a movie about a man that is not altogethere *there* (which I can totally deal with in real life, but in a movie, oh boy!) who runs the entire country, taking the time out to make ridiculous quotes, and gets the opportunity to sleep with a beautiful woman and have the entire nation run along with him while egging him on to "run Forest run!" could be such a big deal. I guess that proves that life IS like a box of chocolates doesn't it, but I'm no less befoggled!

If only it was that delicious all the time. It is like a box of chocolates in that we "never know what we're gonna get". Life is very unpredictable, and they say the best way to make God laugh is to tell Him your plans.

I think life is like being an archaeologist excavating an old out house site. Always full of cr*p. Sure it's full of interesting items and it can be fun if you like what you are doing. But you have to put up with so much sh** to get to the good parts, there are days you really wonder if it is worth it all.

It is more like a Pandora's Box than anything else.

I think it's more like a kind of maze; and if you're lucky, you'll find someone to keep you company while you both try to find your way.
