Yes, some of the laws enacted by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). These laws take away a lot of consumers' fair rights, particularly with respect to digital media.

The best example is this: technically, it's illegal to watch a DVD on a computer using the Linux operating system (unless you are using officially licensed software, which, to my knowledge, none exists for Linux). Why should it be illegal for me to watch a DVD that I paid for, in the privacy of my own home? As long as I don't make copies of the DVD and distribute them, no one is hurt by this.

The DMCA has a lot of other outrageous provisions. Too numerous to list here.

After reading the other responses, I want to add that I think it's okay to smoke pot. It's no worse than alcohol, and as long as you smoke responsibly, doesn't harm anyone else. Most people get too lazy to actually do any harm when they're high anyway!

I'll agree with a couple of others, the speed limit. It is often dangerous to not exceed the speed limit. The flow of traffic can be disrupted, you could be rear ended,or you could drive some idiot to road rage! Intellectual property theft is the same as physical property theft in sapient beings.

Parking Permit Zones on public streets. Especially on streets where every residence has it's own garage and driveway. That's just a way for residents of rich areas to keep poor people out of their neighborhoods, and causes congestion on other streets.

It's ok to break the drug laws because they cause our prisons to be overfilled anywayz. Smoking a little bud every now and then isn't gonna support terrorism like the white house administration says.....
