Is "Paki" a racist slur?

Is the term Paki a racist slur, or is that what people from Pakistan are called? I mean, people from Afghanistan are Afghanis, and people from Hindustan are Hindis.

I'm not trying to be racist, I'm just asking. If it is racist, then what is the correct term?

People from Pakistan are known as Pakistanis.

Paki is a racist slur.
