Go to the website below and run a memory check. It will tell you what you have and how much you can add. It will also tell you what type of RAM you need.

You don't mention what Operating System you have on your PC but assuming you have Windows XP installed on the PC you can press control-alt-delete to bring up the Windows Task Manager and then select Performance from the tabs across the top of that window. This will display a 'heartbeat' style graph showing how much load your CPU is under and a graph showing how much RAM you are using. There are also some text boxes below showing various details about your RAM such as figures for Total and Available RAM.

Please note that if you are running an older version of Windows than XP (or Vista) then pressing control-alt-delete will not directly bring up the Task Manager, it will bring up a window offering you several choices like Log Off, Restart as well as Task Manager. From that screen you simply have to click the Task Manager button to get there.

As RAM is memory, youcan not have 256 mb of RAM and 80 Gig of memory. You have 256 mb of RAM memory, and 80 Gig of storage space.

The amount of RAM never changes, so I suspect your question is actually how much storage space you have left on the hard drive. Double click on My Computer icon, find the Hard drive (C:) and right click on it. Select Properties.

You will have a "pie chart" in the middle of the window that opens which shows your hard drive space - how much used and how much free.

Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete. The Windows task manager will open. Just click on the Performance tab to get the details.
