I don't like the Beatles, they're songs sound like nursery rhymes
I don't like U2 they're songs sound generic
I don't like Rollings Stones, they're songs lack originality
I do like:
Radiohead, but they lack a multitude of good songs
White Stripes, but they're sound is a bit simple
Stone Roses, but they lack quantity of albums to be considered
The Strokes, but they're most recent album was a let down

I like the pixies because atleast 2/3 of the songs on all 4 of the albums they released was a winner. More than most bands can say.

Notice anything about the three you don't like? Two of them have been around before you were born, I am just guessin on that though. U2, I don't care for them, but they have been around since the late '70's. And they continue to put out new music. It is staying power. Maybe you are just listening to the popular ones. If you get an album, obviously not a greatest hits album, from any three of those groups, you may be enlightened.

I would say that 2/3 thirds of every Beatles and Stones album were winners. But, and here's the clincher, that is my opinion. Well, at least you're not bashing them. Enjoy the Pixies, but don't rule out the good ole classics.

They were good and must be commended for making 4 high quality albums in 4 years. In a way I don't want them to release any new material, so that it doesn't tarnish the legacy (I hate it when films do this with sequels as well).

But as for best band ever - not for me; there's at least 50 bands I consider to be better. If you're looking for bands that influenced the Pixies then buy some Husker Du records - late 80s/early 90s alternative rock is massively indebted to them.

As for the Stone Roses - if you take the Sally Cinnamon EP and Garage Flower/Turns into Stone compilations into account then there's enough material to be considered one of the best ever.

Few too many 'classic' bands in that list for my liking as well :P

There a good bad and I agree that the Stones aren't too good, but they're not on the same tier as artists like Neil Young, Pink Floyd, and The Doors

The pixies are an excellent band, I love songs like "the pot head" or "where is my mind." But I love the beatles, and the rolling stones, they're both pretty damn good. The Pixies, well, they beat the Stones. But not the Beatles. Sorry, mate.

I liked The Pixies, favorite song - Planet Of Sound.
I like Post-Pixies better, Frank Black then Frank Black & The Catholics along with The Kelly Deal 6000.

Penny stocks are loosely categorized companies with share prices of below $5 and with market caps of under $200 million. They are sometimes referred to as "the slot machines of the equity market" because of the money involved. There may be a good place for penny stocks in the portfolio of an experienced, advanced investor, however, if you follow this guide you will learn the most efficient strategies https://tr.im/c8109

I can think of several bands that I like better, but they were pretty damn amazing nonetheless; Bossanova is amazing and would we have had grunge, Nirvana and all the rest without Doolittle? They pioneered that whole loud/quiet thing.
Did think Surfer Rosa/Come on Pilgrim was overrated and hard work though.

I'm with you on U2 and the Stones. Yawn to infinity! The Pixies rocked!

you obviously enjoy your music, and have your opinions but you need to listen to a lot more music than you have stated here,Music in all it`s diversyties can never be compressed into one or two sentances even when sub catorgarising into rock, rock n roll, heavy rock, thrash, grunge, heavy metal etc,but Iknow what you are saying.
Personally I like jeferson airplane, the Doors,The Who,Sex Pistols Jools Holland,Goldfrapp,Portishead and several hundred other rock bands from Bill Haley and the Comets up to Carla Bruni which I bought the other day.
Listen to as much as you can before making sweeping statements about nursery rhymes and unoriginality

I don't agree with all your musical opinions, but the Pixies definitely are up there in the higher echelons
and they had an incredible live sound

I like the Doors, Classic Metallica (before they changed their style), when their original bassist Cliff Burton was still alive. I love Slayer too.
