I don't know why I got this one wrong on my test. I put D. Could someone tell me the right answer, and why it is right?

The correct answer is Iron - have you heard of rust? It is the origin of the term corrosion of metal! (Probably because it was discovered so eary in the development of metals).

The lower down on the list the more likely the material will corrode.

When zinc reacts with oxygen, it forms zinc oxide. The zinc oxide forms a protective coating which sticks tightly to the zinc metal, and unless the oxide is scraped off, the remaining metal will not continue to react with oxygen.

On the other hand, when iron reacts with oxygen, it forms rust, Fe2O3, which flakes off of the remaining iron, allowing oxygen to continue reacting with the rest of the metal.
