defending THEIR country? Forget your party allegiance, this has nothing to do with that. Cheney is over there to tell them that this is unacceptable. Do you think they'll listen? And if they don't how should the United States deal with this slap in the face?

Our Congress taking long vacations is not a very good analogy. Our country is not in chaos because of a civil war among our nationals!!!!!
To the person who accuses me of only being concerned about our soldiers: Damn right I'm concerned about our soldiers. I don't enjoy Iraqi's deaths either. But I'm also sick and tired of the Iraqi government showing their incompetence by not coming up with any viable solutions to their insurgent problems and then thumbing their nose at us when Bush insists they at least make the effort. Vacation? Not for a week, or even two weeks, but for TWO MONTHS? Please. It's beyond outrageous.

I am absolutely appalled. That shows me that the Iraqis do not understand the gravity of the situation, and therefore, do not deserve our support.

I'm just curious about why you think it's not fair.
Firstly, I think it's insulting that the VP goes over there after contributing to the total destruction of a sovreign nation and tells them they should be doing better, when the US is who caused all the damage. Do you think that is fair?
Our congress takes even bigger vacations all the time, and they are IN CHARGE of these soldiers who are dying. In fact, they are rsponsible for all the other people dying (in case you forgot that Iraq has lost 10 times the number of people the US has in the "war").
And this is besides the point, but it's G*D damned hot in the Middle East, esp at this time of the year, and they don't have cushy airconditioned offices ike your government does.
They need a break, too.
Besides, they haven't been able to stop the mess American made anyway, what makes you think a vacation will make it much worse.

If cheney can go on a hunting vacation and shoot a guy in the face, then have that guy apologize to him, then the iraq parliament can go on vacation. they are the ones who has the hard job and can be assassinated at any time. Anyway the soldiers signed up for the war---they knew what they were getting into.

I also feel sorry for the deaths of your Soldiers....but they should not have been there on first place........That place does not belong to you so no use of letting your people die there..and Btw this governament is US chosen governament so bush can deal with them better !how come you expect something good from them? they don't care even about their people..do you realy expect them to care about your people?? Attacking that place was the fault of your govnermanet and now you are stuck there and paying for that mistake by giving the lives of your people ! now its kind of a bitter bite which you can neither swallow nor spit ! this is how politics goes on !!
Btw do you realy think that Iraqi governament could save your people by staying on duty?? No way !! that is a dummy governament and talking of their incompetence so yes it is...! but again it favours your governament and letting them to stay more and more ! this is the positive point of it...if Iraq could get some"competent" governament it would have created some Big problems for you ! would you like that? simple solution to this problem is..make up your mind and leave that place and let them decide on their own whether they want to kill each other and live in peace ! that would be upto them !why you people taking headache?

Ok, now lets all the Americam troops take a vacation right along with them. It's all a lost cause folks. They won't help them selves, so I say get the heck out of Dodge while we can. Leave them high and dry.

Yes I am very outraged at that fact.It just shows how a man like Saddam can come into power to begin with. These people have no drive except to blow people up with suicide bombers and rage wars.
They are a disgrace to every soldier that has died and fighting over there.
I dont like Cheney, but kudos to him for letting them know this is unacceptable

What did you expect from the Iraq people ?
I mean really !
Just to correct you on one point - Only they can defend "Their" country. We can't give them freedom or democracy. They (like all people) must earn it.
We can't give them freedom
can't defend them
can't change them.
It is up to them. Always will be, Always has been.

Yes, I think it is completely uncalled for, being that the Iraqi government is supposed to be standing on its own and that should be asap.
