My son is almost 9 months old and I gave him a stainless steel measuring cup to chew on,it does not have a handle or anything sharp for him to hurt himself on,but is it too hard for his teeth? Can it harm his teeth? He really seems to like it.He has had his 2 bottom teeth for 4 months already.

Take a wash rag, soak it in water, and stick it in the freezer until solid. He will like it much better. Metal is not a good idea.

Metal or anything too hard can effect the development of the gums and teeth. You could harm the process of the alignment of your baby's adult teeth, and will be painful for him when his adult teeth start to form behind his baby teeth. I would advise you to definitely not give your son anything metal. I would say a teething ring or a soaked washcloth would be safer.

Yea.. metal is not very good for their teeth, he might like it, but is he going to like it when it chips or breaks his tooth ? ouuch.. I know some babies don't like teething rings, mine certainly didn't, but there's def. safer things for your little one to chew on :)

Are you serious?? If you are then you should get something softer like a teething ring or toy from the store for him to chew on. Metal could ruin his teeth.
