? ? ? ?....Not all Christians want death. This was in response to 'mefeelsogood50's ridiculous comment comparing Christians with Muslims.
And, lets all be clear here since there is already alot of misinterpretation going on. I am a Christian. But I know the history of the Christian church. I don't take a holier than thou approach, I'm a realist. I'm against terrorism of all kinds no matter where they come from. But when stupid comments are made out of ignorance about Christians today or Christians of the past, then the record needs to be set straight. There are still Christians calling for the death of people and there are people killing in the name of Christianity. The loonies who are murdering doctors from women's health clinics are some contemporary examples. Pat Robertson calling for the death of Chavez is another. Watch Jesus Camp, the documentary film about indoctrination and brain washing in the name of Christ. It's sick and it is exactly the same as what Muslims do in radical Madrasas.
arcticch… Do you know the meaning of metaphor and the realization of historical truth? I asked those questions in that context to remind 'mefeelsogood50' that history proved him wrong and where was he when the rest of us learned this historical fact of Christianity and it's murderous past? It's not meant as a literal "Where were you" during that time. It's quite obvious that none of us were born yet. Please don't be so simplistic. And BTW, you may not be a Christian, but I am a Christian. And if you think I'm not critical of radical Islam, then you haven't read all of my posts. Nor did you notice that I posted many sites that prove that many muslims are very critical of radical Islam.
tinker t…McVey was a right wing extremist who grew up in the Catholic Church. He used Christian extremism morality to justify killing the people working at the Murray building for revenge against the Branch Dividian bombings by the gov't.
He belonged to the KKK at one time and had strong ties to the Aryan Nations and Christian Identity movement.

Was ILtrix correct about christians who wanted death?
- Apparently, she doesn't share your views! You are making a gross generalization about a group of people you quite obviously don't know *anything* about.
" Where were you when T. McVey blew up the federal buidling? he was Christian to."
- And I was supposed to stop him....how, exactly? I'm not in law enforcement,. Like most other Americans, I didn't know anything at all about McVeigh until it was too late. And I don't see wtf his religion has to do with anything - Christianity has *not* called for the death of all non-believers.
"Where were you when the Catholic church murdered millions of innocent Europeans and forced it's religion and power on those peaceful people? And then turned around and did it to millions of Latin American natives."
- Not alive. Where were you?
"Where were you when the protestants murdered hundreds of thousand of Europeans for being Catholic."
- And you were...where, exactly?
"Where were you when the crusades marched in the name of Catholocism into the mid east and Jerusalem in the name of the Pope and murdered millions of Jews and Muslims until the streets flowed with blood?"
- Um...yeah...*how* long ago was that? It sucks, yes, but a lot of stuff in history sucks. How many Catholics rioted and killed people when the picture of the Virgin Mary covered in elephant **** was put on display? Or how about whenever Jesus is slammed in the press or in "art"? Spare me.
"Where were you when the Catholic church forced Jews to convert and burned them alive if they didn't?"
- You can't be serious. Why does the left have a fit if someone brings up Clinton, but you guys drag this crap out?
"Where were you when the Catholic church did nothing to stop the Nazi's from murdering millions of Jews, artists, liberals, unionists, blacks, gays and non-germanic people during the 20th century?"
- See above.
"And now right wilng christians are calling for the death of gays? "
- I'm sure there are plenty of extremist freaks out there, but it's certainly *not* reserved just for the right. I've seen first-hand what the rabid left can do to law-abiding Americans. Take your partisan blinders off - this isn't a religious problem. It's a HUMAN NATURE problem.
Religion can most certainly be twisted for foul purposes, but I think it's shows ignorance and bigotry to paint *all* religious people as bad.
And why do I have a feeling that you would be furious if a Christian was to post something similar, but anti-Muslim? Oh, and for the record, I'm not much of a Christian. I just hate to see bigotry unchallenged.
Liltrix - my sincerest apologies. I did not see your comments here until *after* I had answered. I *did* change my answer to leave you out of it.

"Where were you when T. McVey blew up the federal buidling?"
Playing D&D with some friends from college. McVey was a radical states-rights militia loony. He may have also been Christian, but it didn't much inform his agenda.
"And now right wilng christians are calling for the death of gays?"
I believe thier condemning them to hell, and trying to 'cure' them - but if there are some concentration camps and gas chambers we don't know about, please do report them to the authorities.
The answer to all the other questions is: "Not born yet" (And I'm not exactly young). It's interesting that critics of christianity need to pick up history books to find evidence of systematic abuses by the religion itself.
Christianity, while it's still used as a basis for the occassional loony cult, is a religion that has gone through multiple periods of reformation, liberalization, and examination. For the most part, Christians have learned to be pretty tollerant of other religions.

protecting in ideas that my ideals are fairly unorthodox while in comparison with maximum Christians (I actual don't have self assurance in an eternal Hell, and that i lean heavily in the direction of some style of reincarnation), i might say that i'm extra-or-much less detached to death (my own, besides). it will take place while it happens, and regardless of comes later on is none of my enterprise till i certainly adventure it. while it is composed of others, besides the undeniable fact that, i've got certainly in no way lost all people that i became into extremely close to to, yet judging by ability of how my ideas has a tendency to artwork, I think of i may be unhappy for a time. they may be long previous from my existence, in spite of each and every thing, and that i might have not have been given any theory how long it may be in the previous I observed them returned. I probably does not reserve any particular grief for death, even with the incontrovertible fact that; i may be as unhappy if somebody close to to me died as i might in the event that they moved someplace some distance away the place i could not work together with them anymore. That, even with the incontrovertible fact that, might in basic terms word in the event that they died a organic or unintentional death. in the event that they have been, say, murdered, my grief may be lots deeper, and doubtless tinged by ability of anger, as my chum might have had a life-time of stories stolen from them, and that i might have had a life-time of understanding them stolen from me. This existence won't be all we've, however the stories we've mutually as we are listed right here are unique; they'd't be replaced. i might attempt to withstand the urge to hunt for terribly own vengeance, even with the incontrovertible fact that i don't know if I certainly have that diploma of self-discipline at this factor. the two way, i might do each and every thing in my skill to work out that those reponsible face the suitable justice, for the sake of my chum's honor.

Who's ILtrix? Most of us weren't even born yet when some of these things took place. I was born in May of 1933 and to the best of my recollection we did do something about the Nazis in WW2 and the Nurenburgh Trials afterwards. You need to change your screen name, you're no funbag.

So if it is wrong for Christians to HAVE DONE these things (since they are so far in the past), WHY aren't you protesting these same CURRENT actions by muslims?
