Don't get me wrong, I love a tan. But tanning is poison to your skin. You're damaging your dermis, which is the structural support under your epidermis. Unless you're looking to be Miss Prune-Fest of 2010, I'd recommend you avoid as much sun exposure as possible. The affects are made worse by the fact that skin is more easily damaged when you're pregnant because it's already stretched out. That said, there's no harm to your baby. If you still want to lay out in the sun, be sure to wear broad spectrum sunscreen (protecting you from both UVA and UVB rays) with a minimum of SPF 15.

Perfectly safe. But just be cautious so you don't dehydrate or get too hot. The vitamin D your body gets from the sun will help your baby to store some for the first few months of his/her life, as well :) So suntan away!

Yes it is, no matter what the tan-haters tell you :) Use a low-grade sunblock so you still get color without the damage, a bottle of water, and a pregnancy book (or whatever you're into) and relax. Enjoy yourself now, because time is a luxury when that baby comes!

Yes, just don't get too hot! The sun is actually HEALTHY for your body - despite what the sunscreen companies would have you think. Avoid burning - but definitely get some healthy, Vitamin D producing sunlight.

Oh definately safe...just use protection lotion and don't get overheated (stay hydrated). Your body temperature needs to stay at a safe range for baby. As long as you stay as cool as possible and not prolonged stays it's fine.

Yeah it's safe. It's the skin cancer that you may get later in life that you need to worry about. Make sure to use your sunscreen.
