My dr told me I was 5weeks and 5 days but the ultrasound people told me the baby showed 6 weeks (even 6w1day). Does this mean I should go by the ultrasound? So I was really 6 weeks on that day? Should I adjust the due date dr originally gave me then? Only 2 days but want to know. Thanks.

Those that say that the English will not learn another language are not joking. There was a news item over the weekend that a certain area of Spain that has been overrun by the British are now standing for the local council because amongst other things their children are not taught in English. To the person that says that the Spanish know English but won't speak it . I say how do you know? I spend a lot of time in France and a lot of people do not speak English and if they can why should they, nobody will speak to them in French on this side of the channel. I went to live in France in the late 60's early 70's when I was on submarines with the SA navy, at that time my French was good but now it is quite rusty. I still speak French when in France even when spoken to in English ( by the French). I have always had great admiration for those that spoke other tongues especially those that made the effort to speak an African language (I speak now of the white population) I always lived on the slopes of Table mountain and as a kid went to a private school in the Southern suburbs and hardly ever spoke Afrikaans. I have found that my little group of SA friends here in UK come out with Afrikaans, or speak in real Kaapie accents all the time we are together.

With it being only 2 days I wouldnt worry about it, most babies arent born on there exact due date anyway. But yes the ultrasound is more accurate than going by the last period.
When I found out I was expcting this time, my due date from my ultrasound was 2 weeks before my due date from my last period, the doc. said that I must have gotton pregnant 2-3 days before that last period and had the period anyway. But everything is fine so it ok with me.

I don't think the 2 days are really going to matter. When you are pregnant, you usually are not exactly on your due date anyway, unless they induce you. I would say follow the ultrasound, it's usually the easiest and most reliable. Just remember, nobody can predict the due date exactly, so your baby could come a few days earlier. No worries! Good Luck & Congratulations!

Generally, an ultrasound performed between 5-7 weeks has a margin of error for dating of about 3 days, which puts your original due date well within range. Very few babies are born on their due date, so I would worry about it.

I thought it was crazy that a computer can give a date based on the development of the lungs legnth of bones etc .......... so I just trusted my original due date the doctor would change it if it was that big of a difference and towards the end if they feel the baby is too large they will induce or something! Congrats!!

I had two due dates as well. Dec. 11 and Dec. 24 and my son was born dec 14. When you go back in at your 20week ultrasound they will be able to tell more. And if you have a question about it ask your doc.

It doesn't mean anything.
They gave me two due dates (June 15 by dates, and June 11 by ultrasound), it's just a margin of error you get with pregnancy.

Generally, if the US difference is less than two weeks, they go by the original due date.

You can go by either one. The due date is just an estimate and a couple days isn't going to matter.
