Does Human Chorionic Gonadotrophin injections safe during pregnancy?

My doctor prescribed (without any blood test) this just because she wants to avoide any miscarriage. I am 8 weeks pregnant and everything is fine. I heart the heartbeat last night during ultrasound.

I have a history of miscarriage (one) in 5 weeks, 9 months ago.

hcg is the hormone found in you're body when you are pregnant so no it may help out if you do not produce enough on you're own !! congrats!!
