Hi, don't worry about previous answer had he read the question he'd have understood!

All keys slot back into their position, I take mine out to clean my keyboard, the space bar should click back into place. If not you can always press the actual mechanism of the key wthout the bar being fitted. Another option is to use the tab key and backspace to get a space. But the key will fit back in and will click down, keep manoveuring it and eventually it should click.

All keyboards are different in fittings, but follows a common rule, there are contacts, like 2 sheets with space in between, when you press a key, the two layers touch and make contact, then when you release the key, there some spring or rubber that bounce the key up again, release the contact.
