Now, before you jump all over me here are some reason why i believe it SHOULD be.

1. It would be a huge sorce of revenue for the government in taxes much like ciggarettes.

2. It would lower crime in some degree for drug smuggling.

3. Law enforcement would be able to focus on worse drugs like CRACK, COKE, and PILLS(even though i abdicate pills)

now list your thoughts.

Yes, I think marijuana should be legalised...why? For all the reasons you just posted.

I think it should. I have chronic migraines (no pun intended) and I used to throw up everything other than imitrex (which is expensive even with insurance!) for my migraine “season” which gave me horrible side affects for ~3 months. I can honestly say that being 22. I started using it last year and have had 3 migraines total instead of three months worth at 21 and what would be 3 months now. Not abusing it, because to be honest I also don’t like the feeling of being “high” much. My mom was really against me smoking it but also informed me that my great grandmother used to put parts of the plant in rubbing alcohol for her sciatic.

I think if you start smoking it when you're a bored kid in middle school/ high school it's dangerous because you have more of an addictive personality. People need to be educated more on the drug, it does UNMOTIVATE you. If people want to sit around and smoke pot all day with nothing else going for themselves it's not the weed but the lazy idiot who lets himself be consumed by it/laziness or the idea that if he has tried marijuana he has to try other drugs!

While I agree with you that it might lower crime in some ways (smoking itself), I don't believe that marijuana should be legalized. And the reason why is because I don't think that the Federal govt. should prey on people's addictions in order to raise money.
Similar to the lottery, and other substances that may cause addiction, like alcohol, smoking, and bad eating habits, making money off people's addictions should be discouraged.
I also know that marijuana has proven to be a gateway drug for many. When those addicted can't get a big enough high using marijuana, they begin experimenting with harder drugs. Then it becomes a spiral in the person's life, the community, and also the culture. (IE Native Americans).
The argument that weed is as 'harmless' as cigarettes isn't true. Nicotine is a powerful ad dictate that causes many to become addicted to smoking and die from the diseases it causes.
But please don't get me wrong-I do respect your opinion on the subject and others who hold the same opinion.

1 no it wotn they make more money of it when its illegal cause then they can catch the dealers make em pay bail take there money away that they made of selling it and plus the goverment puts the drugs on the street first anyway

2 yea it would because most people bout 35% do it just call its illegal and they think its great to do it jsut cause its illegal

3 no not realy casue most dealers dont just sell weed they sell other stuff too but once again the goverment brings all that stuff into this contry.

if they all were leagal US goverment would lose alot of money its ture do some resurch on this topic there are many wars we dont know bout thats goin on right now

You should look into how much tax payers money are being put into health related issues with pot addicts. Studies have been found that smoking pots will decrease brain cells. So why legalize something when you know for sure that it is a health hazard?

Marijuana has fewer side effects than many legal drugs. We would have fewer messed up people if it was legal. And we would recapture a great deal of our freedom.
I would never use it (well maybe for glaucoma or to relieve pain),
but I do cherish freedom.

Why do you think they call it dope?

Good point about the revenue however. That makes sense---NOT! Why don't we just legalize but tax everything? Now that would really bring in some revenue.

Yes, when used responsibly. Of course, you will have a few nutcases. We have them anyway and utimately they end up where they belong.

Alcohol impairs judgement, so does marijuana. So, what's the difference.

If marijuana was legal, the cops would have to find another way to pick on the hippies.

Well, seeing as some people I know have f-ed up their lives over this "harmless" drug, I'd be against legalization.
