Wow, great job! You are so close to meeting your new little bundle of joy, and it sounds like you are doing everything right! Just hang in there -- won't be long now. I am in the same boat, believe me. I am now 41 weeks plus 2 days. I get induced on Tuesday if she hasn't come yet, and I really hope to avoid that!
Anyway, do you have a midwife or nice OB you can talk to about the depression? You have tons of pregnancy hormones running through your body right now. And it is a really difficult time. But if you are crying a lot, its a sign that you may need to get some help, and it can't hurt.
But its best to talk to a counselor or therapist -- someone experienced with postpartum and pregnancy issues. You don't want to get postpartum depression! Its good that you recognize that you are getting depressed, which means you can take action to do something about it. Please ask your midwife or OB for a referrral!
By the way, I am struggling with low energy and feeling a little blue. I make a to-do list every day and try to get some things done, but then end up sitting around watching tv or wasting time on Yahoo answers. I am nearly useless right now!

I promise you that the waiting is the hardest part and it is almost over. You are at 40 wks and well on your way so it should be okay to try this...
Nipple stimulation makes the body release oxytocin which is what causes contractions and milk production. Start by massaging your breasts (the whole thing) and then cup one of them in your hands and gently roll our hands toward the nipple (don't squeeze it). As you come to the nipple rub it and then go back up to the breast. Do this for about ten minutes on each breast and then rest. It should bring contractions on. You can have the hubby do this, could lead to more sex, which will help (especially if you have an orgasm which also releases oxytocin). Don't get down, you won't be pregnant forever, it is ending, I would wager it won't be more than a few days. If you get contractions going, then walk around to keep them going.
Good luck, you're almost done.

hello, first of all congratualtions. And I know how you feel. I have had two beautiful babies and after so many weeks you are ready to go into labor. What I recomend is that you just relax, drink lots of water, and speak to your baby. Your baby is most comfortable with your voice and talking to him/her will make the baby relaxed. If you already know your babies name, tell him.her your ready for them to come out. And make sure everynight you eat a nice meal becasue once you do go into labor you wont eat for a while, and trust me, you will get hungry. Anyway so just relax and talk to your baby. Good luck with everything and i pray you have a good delivery.

I know it can be frustrating, but you are 3cm you can ask your doctor about inducing labor for you. good luck let me know if its a boy or girl! About the crying, you will feel so much better when you hold your bundle of joy in your arms. Try some alone time, hold your stomach and talk to your baby, I am sure you will feel better!

Rest in the afternoon, eat nutritiously, take your vitamins, and pray for patience.
My first baby was two weeks overdue, and I used to wake up in the morning and cry because I hadn't gone into labor yet.
I got over it when he was born.
Start a new project [ who cares if you don't finish it for 18 years.]
Get a massage!
Get a manicure/pedicure.
Buy a book you'vealways wanted to read [ even if it's a kid's book - it will be the start of a great collection! ]

Just take it one day at a time. My last 3 months were miserable. I would try to relax etc. But you just have to be tough. It will be over soon and you will have a wonderful baby

If you stay relaxed things progress alot faster. That's true even in labor. Go get a good foot massage if they'll do it. Or make someone else. There are pressure points in your foot, calf, and palm of your hand that will set labor off.

Relax and enjoy the moment
when i was pregnant i became so anxious for my child to be born that we only made it to seven months because I literally made myself sick with worrying....so the best thing to do is relax .....i spent 2 months in the Nicu unit with my child fighting for her life because i could not calm down and the doctor had to give me an emergency c-section ............my daughter was born 2lbs 9Oz's she is the joy of my life but i wish i had given her a better start ...do that for your child ...enjoy this time......my grandmother told me when i was pregnant that a child feels everything we do and get upset when we do ..................get a pedicure ...get a massage .......RELAX your child is worth waiting for

You may try and get busy with something else to take your mind off it. Do and re-do baby's nursery. Visit friends etc and relax. The wait is worth it.
