Because Ben obviously believes Locke killed his father and before hand he knew he never had it in him and appeared to be shocked along with the others when Locke carried his dead father on his shoulders. And to find out later that Ben killed his father and the others see him(BEN) as this kind of leader. What are your inputs on this? Doesn't it seem odd. And he seemed sort of jealous that Locke heard words of this so called Jacob and Ben did not so he killed Locke it seems as a threat to him and the others. As if the others may kill Ben and in turn follow Locke?
